Michael (Mike) Trammell serves as a church services consultant, equipping and encouraging pastors and other leaders.
Serving as senior pastor of Mt. Airy Baptist Church, with his wife Pam, for 26 years before retiring in 2017, Mike knows ministry can be joyful, and painful. He draws on that wealth of experience to minister to other pastors and leaders.
He also understands what it means to be a cooperating Southern Baptist, serving multiple times on the BCM/D General Mission Board and as BCM/D president for two consecutive terms. On the national level, Trammell served on multiple SBC committees, including ten years on the SBC Executive Committee.
Mike said, “I’ve always tried to be faithful where I’ve been asked to serve.”
He grew up in a Christian home and made a confession of faith at Second Baptist Church, Hot Springs, Arkansas. After college, he served as an Army Lieutenant, a result of his Army ROTC participation.
Mike later earned a degree from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary while working on staff at Bellevue Baptist Church, under the leadership of Adrian Rogers, who ordained Mike to Gospel ministry.
He and Pam also served at Second Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, where Mike was a minister of church programs. They left to pastor two churches in Arkansas, including Highland Drive Baptist Church in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Mike earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Mo.
