SALISBURY, Md—The Eastern Baptist Association is sponsoring “Active Shooter and Church Safety Preparedness” from noon to 2 pm on Jan.24 at Harvest Baptist Church, Salisbury and again at First Baptist Church of Easton, on Jan. 31.

The event is designed to help church leaders assess and refine their security and emergency preparedness to provide a safe environment for their congregations and to know how to handle a potential active shooter situation.

Bud Rager, executive pastor of Grace Baptist Church, Seaford, DE, will be the guest speaker. Rager is a retired 30-year police officer and army soldier with training in dealing with an active shooter.

Lunch is provided and all participants will receive a church safety assessment tool.

The cost is $10 for EBA members and $20 for all others.
