HEDGEVILLE, W. Va.––Western Baptist Association hosted its annual youth camp July 7 to 14 at Camp Frame, Hedgeville, West Virginia. Several children made confessions of faith and WBA Director of Missions Kenny Heath said he saw young campers stepping up as leaders.
“At a Thursday evening campfire, Jim Jeffries, pastor of LaVale Baptist Church, and Keith Aguila, pastor Grace Baptist Church, Cumberland, extended an invitation for campers to ask Jesus into their lives.Three young people prayed to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior, for which, of course, we praise the Lord!” Heath said.
“Also very significant was the way the Holy Spirit moved in the lives of several of the high-school-age campers. Near the end of camp week, you could find them listening to and praying with younger campers whose hearts had been stirred. We had never before seen the Lord touch campers to take this kind of leadership.”
Heath said he is thankful for the 40 adult volunteers from WBA churches. Most of them were lay leaders who used their vacation time for ministry.
