The countdown has begun! Crossover Baltimore will be here before we know it. To be held on Saturday, June 7, preceding the annual meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention, Crossover Baltimore is an amazing opportunity for local churches in and around Baltimore to share the love of Jesus with individuals who live and work in the area.
Presently, 62 outreach events are planned with 54 mission teams coming from 17 states and six seminaries, including Midwestern, New Orleans, Southeastern, Southern, and Southwestern, as well as Liberty University. Seminary students will arrive earlier in the week, canvassing neighborhoods for church plants in Baltimore.
“This amounts to around 1,100 volunteers!” shared Bob Mackey, director of missions for the Baltimore Baptist Association.
“We are deeply appreciative that God would raise up people in our state and country to help the churches in our region,” said Mackey, visibly moved. He said most of the volunteers are coming from churches in the multi-state Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware.
Thirty-two BBA churches, 25 of which attended one of three BBA evangelism trainings, are participating in these evangelistic endeavors. These include block parties, festivals, a 5k run and family fun day, health fair, sports outreaches, a coffee house, car wash, construction, prayer walking, and canvassing. The Baptist Collegiate Ministry is hosting “Sand America,” a beach volleyball event on Rash Field with games through the day, free food and a bounce house for children.
