COLUMBIA, Md.—Many Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware  churches including Redland Baptist Church, First Baptist Church, Rockville, Dunkirk Baptist Church, Columbia Baptist Fellowship, The Church at Covenant Park, and Riva Trace Baptist Church, will join many others throughout the country to offer a one-day livestream broadcast of the “Work as Worship Retreat,” that will take place live in Dallas on Feb. 23.  At least 2,000 churches throughout the country will participate. The conference will feature influential business leaders and pastors who will share what it looks like to connect faith and work.

Guests include Patrick Lencioni, author of “The Five Dysfunctions of a Team;” Joel Manby, the chief executive officer of SeaWorld and author of “Love Works;” Phil Vischer, creator of “VeggieTales” and “Jellyfish Labs;” Matt Chandler, lead pastor of The Village Church; and many more. They’ll share their stories and the wisdom they’ve gained through the years to equip Christians to glorify God in their jobs while caring for their families.

The event focuses on eight tenants:

  • God designed work before the fall of man
  • We are called to mission
  • Christians are the church, not the building
  • Work impacts our perspective of God
  • God uses work to impact communities
  • All of life can be worship
  • We don’t work to earn God’s favor
  • Work as worship but do not worship work.

Tickets are $25. For more information or to register, visit the “Work as Worship” website.
