A number of unsalaried laymen financed ministries in Maryland, such as the Baptist Home for The Aged (1917) and Baptist Children’s Home of Maryland (1920)?
There were a number of wealthy, influential Marylanders, one being a successful businessman who not only provided finances, but provided leadership in administrative skills. His tea and spice shop developed into a large and successful manufacturing enterprise. The business is still in operation today.
