The Southern Baptist Baltimore Serve Tour is coming to Baltimore on April 29-30! Disaster Relief (DR) has been asked to coordinate volunteers to provide local logistical support to mission teams from Maryland/Delaware and across the country who will be participating in over 30 projects across the city.

Our primary assignments are making and delivering lunches to the mission teams each day and preparing and serving dinner at the Friday night rally. To help our DR volunteers practice for an actual disaster, we’ll be setting up the outdoor field kitchen to prepare the dinner.

To get everything ready, we’ll start work on Wednesday, April 26, and will wrap up Saturday, April 30. We’ll need help with pickup/delivery/errands, making bagged lunches, setting up and taking down the big kitchen unit, cooking dinner, serving dinner, cleaning up, and other tasks.

You do not need to be a trained DR volunteer in order to participate as part of the Serve Tour local support team.

We’ve set up a Signup Genius page where you can see the type of work crews available each day. Sign up for a whole day or select a day and then tell us the hours you’re available to serve. We’ll try to honor your preference of work crew, but this is Disaster Relief — please be flexible if we need you to work on another crew.

Overnight mission trip-style housing has been reserved for the local support team volunteers at Middle River Baptist Church in Baltimore. Please indicate if you need housing when you register to serve.
