The leaders at First Baptist Church in Easton, Md., invite people to be intentional about building relationships at work, with their families and with their neighbors—“wherever they are,” said Drew Jensen, executive pastor.
“We have intentional outreach Bible studies in the community in local hospitals with physicians at lunchtime, at senior centers, in apartment complexes—in ten different places.” he said, adding, “Most are led by lay people. Once a month they’re talking with people and answering the questions: Who is Jesus? Why did He come and is that still important today?”
Jensen said the church leaders look at people who are baptized and connect them back, intentionally discipling them through small groups. “We have an intentional mindset in all we do: helping them love God, love others and love to serve.”
