ANNAPOLIS, Md.—First Baptist Church of Eastport, 208 Chesapeake Ave, Annapolis, will host “Maryland/Delaware Baptists Prayer for Human Dignity,” at 4 pm on March 13, prior to the Maryland March for Life.

There will be a time of testimony and praise, worship and prayer for the sanctity of human life, honoring the “image of God,” and loving one another in the name of Jesus. Nikki Barnes, who oversees the missions program at Kettering Ministries, will  share her testimony. Barnes volunteers at several pregnancy centers and is a strong advocate for life. Barnes said she didn’t think she could have an influence in the lives of those struggling with unplanned pregnancies, but God opened her eyes to see that she, as a young, African American woman, could relate to and have a profound influence on women in crisis.

Jocelyn Beckman, a member of Lexington Park Baptist Church and director of the Care Net Pregnancy Center of Southern Maryland’s Leonardtown office, will also share a testimony of her calling to minister to clients and workers at the clinic , encouraging them to honor life as “image bearers” of their creator.

Debbie Glanville will also share how she and several other women at Northwest Baptist Church started Alpha’s Glory Pregnancy Resource Center, and what an impact that has had on families, saving the lives of babies and sharing the Gospel of Jesus.

Following the prayer time, those who wish to participate in the March will assemble nearby at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church. There is also a non-denominational service at St. Mary’s Church meeting simultaneously as the Catholic Mass at 5:15 pm.

The March will commence at 6:30 pm, arriving at Lawyer’s Mall, 100 State Circle, for a rally. Speakers at the rally include Dr. Martin Luther King’s niece, Alveda King, and Tracey Tierman, Shine FM radio host.

A free fellowship with Chick-fil-A food is offered at St. Mary’s after the march.

There is a small parking area at FBC Eastport, and limited on-street parking. There are also several parking garages in the area including the Noah Hillman Garage, closer to St. Mary’s Church and Gott’s Court Garage, closer to Lawyer’s Mall, as well as local garages in the Annapolis area including the Noah Hillman Garage, 150 Gorman St, Annapolis, MD 21401
