OLNEY, Md—Olney Baptist Church will welcome Marcia Montenegro, a former professional astrologer and New Age practitioner turned Christian missionary as guest speaker at 6:30 pm on Sept. 25.
Montenegro is the founder of the ministry, Christian Answers for the New Age, and she is a missionary with Fellowship International Mission.
She studied and practiced astrology, Zen Buddhism, Hinduism, and New Age spirituality and was a professional astrologer for eight years, teaching the practice to others, and serving at one point as president of the Metropolitan Atlanta Astrological Society.
Montenegro, deeply immersed in the world of occultism and spirituality, interacted with witches, New Age gurus, and Eastern religious leaders. She explored chanting, meditation, Tarot cards, psychic healing, dream interpretation, astral journeys and spirit guides.
During her presentation at OBC, Montenegro will address the popularity of spirituality, Eastern mysticism, and New Age beliefs in our current society and discuss the temptations, deceptions, and dangers confronting Christian families.
