Two things begin to happen as believers answer the divine call to prayer.
- God’s people begin to return to Him in revival.
- The church begins to be reclaimed as a house of prayer for all the nations (Mark 11:17).
Prayer is the foundation for everything that we do and is God’s invitation for us to participate in His plan for accomplishing His purposes. Praying for our nations soul is not just about voting booths. This is first and foremost a spiritual contest.
“If My people who are called by My name humble themselves, pray and seek My face, and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear from heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:13-14.
“To change lives we must first be changed. We must pray for and experience spiritual regeneration, then recognize and accept our responsibilities as Christians to be salt and light. If we’re going to have faith in practice, we’ve got to get the faith right first.” Richard Harris (Interim President NAMB)
When God is about to do a mighty new thing He always sets His people praying. — Jonathan Edwards
