Hurricane Florence Rebuild: Jones County, NC
Looking for a summer rebuilding project for yourself or your church?
In the aftermath of Hurricane Florence last year, North Carolina Baptists will be doing A LOT of rebuilding this summer. They’ve asked Virginia Baptist state convention partners (BGAV) to coordinate rebuilding work in Jones County. That’s a still lot of homes to rebuild, so BGAV has invited Maryland/Delaware churches to assist them.
Mission teams will be working in the same areas where BGAV and BCMD Disaster Relief teams worked last year. Many people prayed for these homeowners and communities following the storm; now we have an opportunity to repair those homes and build ministry relationships with homeowners.
In addition to construction volunteers, volunteers are needed each week to help with meal preparation, laundry and on-site logistics. Cooking will be done in a church kitchen and the food is provided–we just need helpers to prepare the meals.
Rebuild mission teams DO NOT need Disaster Relief training.

Size of Teams Needed
1-40. The limiting factor is housing; bunk units are by gender. Contact host for availabilty on a given week. Youth 6th grade and up are welcome. Please maintain ratio of 1 adult per 4 youth.
Housing and Food Preparation
Housing will be provided in mobile bunk units. Shower and laundrey facilities will be available on-site. Cost of meals is included in daily fee but volunteers may be needed to actually cook the food provided.

February through at least the end of summer. Weeklong teams arrive Sunday afternoon/evening and depart Friday afternoon/Saturday morning.
