Salaam Center: Ministering to Refugees

The Salaam Center opened its doors in 2016 to serve Middle Eastern refugees who have made the great city of Baltimore their new home.
The Center helps bridge the gap from new arrival to citizenship. Services offered include English as a Second Language (ESL), Translation, Food, Transportation, Housing and Job Assistance, and Children’s Ministry.
Volunteers are needed to:
a) help people learn English. No experience is necessary.
b) help teach music (especially piano) during our youth program Saturday mornings.
c) accompany Reda and Nadia on hospital or house visits.
d) help with children and youth activities on Saturdays
e) Needs and opportunities arise daily! Contact us for updates regarding how you can love and serve.

We are also in need of the following items: clothing that is clean and in good repair, school supplies, items Nadia can give the women and children as gifts when visiting, American food to distribute (like cookies), and reusable bags for carrying items.
