West Baltimore Flood Rebuild

Last summer, several hundred homes in West Baltimore were damaged by three flash floods. Some homes received over seven feet of water and some homes flooded all three times.
While BCMD Disaster Relief teams were doing mudout and mold-remediation work, the three churches in the immediate neighborhood went door-to-door checking on neighbors, offering assistance and providing spiritual and emotional care. Later, Broken Wall (BCMD church plant) and its two community partners began to clean up homes missed by Disaster Relief teams and start essential repairs.
In 2019, the three churches are reaching out to other congregations and volunteers to assist them in rebuilding as many of the damaged homes as possible–many homeowners are elderly, disabled, low-income or face other challenges.
