HUGESVILLE, Md—Hughesville Baptist Church will have their fifth annual sportsman’s banquet on March 19 featuring award winning outdoor writer Steve Sorenson.steve sorenson-72

Sorensen is best known for his column, “The Everyday Hunter,” that appears in the Olean Times Herald,” and “Ohio Valley Outdoors” magazine. He’s also written for “Outdoor Life,” Sports Afield,” “Deer & Deer Hunting,” and more. Sorenson is also a devout Christ follower. In addition to sharing about Alaskan Moose and Eastern Wild Turkey hunting, Sorenson will share his testimony about his commitment to Jesus.

Doors open at 4 pm and dinner will be served at 5 pm. The presentation starts at 6:30.

The dinner will be roasted pig, fried chicken and all of the “fixin’s.”

Church member Sara Gauger will provide music—country to go with the atmosphere!

The cost is $25 for adults and $10 for children under 10.

Deacon Matt Baden said the event is a community outreach, and it’s a great opportunity for church members to invite their friends and family members. It’s very well attended and has sold out in previous years.. “We’re in southern Maryland. Everyone hunts and fishes!” said Baden.
