SILVER SPRING, Md. — Global Mission Church, will once again host the annual Language Church Music Celebration starting at 5 pm on April 14. Sponsored by the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware (BCM/D), the popular event, which draws over 400 people each year, features international churches praying, singing, and worshiping Jesus together.
Attired in their native dress, musicians from over 20 language churches will participate — including African, Bhutanese, Nepalese, Korean, Chinese, Hispanic, Haitians, Filipino, Burmese, Vietnamese, and Thai.
“As we see the crowd celebrate Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem, we too come together to celebrate Jesus’ entry into our hearts,” said BCM/D Language Church Coordinator Michael Mattar, a native of Liberia, who coordinates the annual event. “That’s the reason we host this each year on Palm Sunday.”
BCM/D Associate Executive Director Tom Stolle is the guest speaker.
Following the worship service, everyone is invited to share a multicultural dinner in the church’s fellowship hall.
“The annual gatherings have been so exciting for us,” exclaimed Mattar. “Language churches in the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware area love praising God together in their native tongues. We are looking forward to affirming and encouraging each other with joy once again.”
