It is with both pleasure and sadness that I inform you of my resignation from the Delaware Association as Ministry Evangelism Director effective Feb. 27, 2009. It is with pleasure that I announce this because the reason for my resignation is that God is calling us to move to Haiti to work with orphaned children, something that has been a burden of ours for quite some time.
After much laboring in prayer and seeking the Lord’s will, my wife and I are confident and certain that He is calling us in this direction, and so we joyfully follow His leading. Of course, It is also with sadness that I announce this because we will be leaving a lot of people and churches that we have come to know and love. I feel as if I was just beginning to start laying a foundation for inner city ministry and I am sad to leave that work in such an early stage of development. But we trust that God’s ways are perfect and He will accomplish whatsoever He desires and He will use whomever He chooses to do His will.
Our joy certainly exceeds our sorrow as we know that He has opened up this door for us and is calling us to take a huge step of faith and walk forward, trusting Him every step of the way. He has already shown Himself so faithful in the many doors that He has already opened up to us, which increase our faith and show us that He clearly is the One who is bringing this about.
My last day with the association will be Feb. 27. While I am still here, I am very eager to continue to try and get churches and individuals involved in ministering in Wilmington. Please let me know how we might be able to work together in making the name of Jesus known to the people in the city.
It has been a pleasure to be a part of what God is doing in Delaware, but we are excited that He has called us to the nation of Haiti to play a part in His plan to reach the people of Haiti with the saving message of Jesus Christ. God bless you.
P.S. If you are interested in more details as to how we got called to Haiti, I have posted much about it on my blog (http://howcantheyhear.wordpress.com).
