Mars Hill Baptist Church, 1400 Old Eastern Avenue, in Essex, Maryland, will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a special worship service at 10:30 a.m., Sunday, November 20. During the worship time a summary of the church’s history will be presented as well as a special time of remembrance regarding former members who are now deceased. The service will be followed by a Celebration Meal for members and guests in the church’s fellowship hall. Several former members, including staff members, are expected to attend. The church was given birth by the Baltimore Tabernacle Church and constituted during the summer of 1961.
