The breakfast is one of the church’s community outreach efforts to connect with and encourage their neighbors.

Elders Baptist Church in Sykesville, Maryland, will host a free outdoor showing of Tim Tebow’s movie “Run the Race” at 7:30 p.m. on August 16. All are welcome to bring blankets and yard chairs and enjoy the movie. Light refreshments will be available.

Middle River Baptist Church in Maryland is having Backyard Bible Clubs this summer as an alternative to Vacation Bible School. They had the clubs last year and did well, so they’re continuing the home venues. Their first club last week brought 26 kids.

The Montgomery Baptist Association (MBA), in partnership with the BCM/D, will have their annual “Body Building” Conference on Sept. 9, at Global Misison Church, 13421 Georgia Avenue, in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Designed to equip and motivate churches for missions and ministry, the conference will offer a variety of breakout sessions, including “Baptist Structure & the Cooperative Program,” “Child Safety Practices,” “Christian Financial Management,” “Church Security,” “Disciple-Making Process,” “Language Ministry and Immigration,” “Multiplying Bible Study Groups,” “Single Moms Ministry,” “Spiritual Disciplines,” and “The Outreach Focused Church.”

Registration check-in is at 5:30 p.m. followed by a dinner and opening session from 6 to 7:15 p.m.; breakout sessions are from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m. followed by a closing session.
