JARRETTSVILLE, Md.—The Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU)-sponsored Mother-Daughter Camp offers moms a chance to bond with their young daughters, entering first through third grades, and to be refreshed and grow in Jesus. The camp is July 8 to 9 at Camp Wo-Me-To, Jarrettsville.
Girls and their moms (or mom substitutes) will enjoy swimming, a hayride, toasting marshmallows at the campfire, crafts, worship and a fun time learning about missions. This year’s theme is “Run the Race,” and the scripture for the week will be, I Timothy 4:8, “Training the body has some value. But being godly has value in every way. It promises help for the life you are now living and the life to come.“ (NIV)
Gayla Parker will be this year’s guest missionary speaker. Parker is the former Mid-Atlantic Baptist Network WMU executive director and a former missionary to the Philippines.
The cost of the camp is $80 and includes meals, lodging, a backpack, activities and a t-shirt.
The registration deadline is June 30.
