Mt. Airy, Md.—Sunday, September 11, is the 15th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Thousands of people died that day but many survived due to the efforts of policemen, firemen, paramedics, and medical personnel. The church family of Mt. Airy Baptist Church feels led to reach out to acknowledge and love those who continue to serve the community of Mt. Airy selflessly every day.
To show their appreciation to those that do so much, yet don’t get recognized often enough for the sacrifices they make, the church will sponsor a “Red, White & Blue Festival” from 4 to 7 pm on September 11, at Watkins Park in Mt. Airy. Local businesses are embracing the event and are partnering to provide food and entertainment.
The festival will include free food including pulled pork, hot dogs, ice cram and more. There will be a petting zoo, a photo booth, three moon bounces, crafts, games, face painting, volleyball, basketball and tennis.
Admission is free but tickets are required. For more information contact the church office at 301-829-2185 or email mbaptistrwbfest@yahoo.com
