“This past year God did something extraordinary in my life. He allowed me to get my first novel published. It is a ‘whodunit’ without the bad language or sexual situations that usually accompany this genre. Many Christians love mysteries but have to read them while wading through an assortment of garbage. This novel has none of that,” Caffey said.

The book is about a Tampa Tribune reporter, Casey Colton. Colton’s wife was killed by a drunk driver a year earlier and the reporter, a Christian, is moving forward in faith. He is assigned to do a piece on a festival in Tampa but finds himself embroiled in a mystery that involves a double homicide, and the theft of gold bars twenty-six years earlier.

Ken Caffey has a bachelor’s degree in writing from the Missouri State University and a master’s degree in church music from the Southwestern Baptist Seminary in Fort Worth.

“Smoke Screen” is published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises. It’s available through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher, Barnes&Noble or Amazon.
