BEL AIR, Md.–Oak Grove Baptist Church will host their annual women’s conference on March 18, 2017. This year’s speaker will be Dee Jones. The theme is “Road Trip: God’s Wonderful Adventure.”
Dee knew at a young age that nursing was her calling. Little did she know that God-ordained detours that would delay this dream for 18 years. Traveling with her military husband provided adventures from Kentucky to Alaska that God would use for His glory.
Born to a singing family, Dee would finally embrace God’s gift of worship through song and a love for God’s Word. A native of Portsmouth, Va., Dee has performed Christian music since the age of seven and currently leads worship, and shares the Gospel globally.
She has appeared with renowned gospel artists such as Andrae Crouch, Point of Grace, Larnelle Harris, and others. Dee has performed in Israel with the National Christian Choir, appeared on the Fox 45 Morning Show, and opened for President Barack Obama, while traveling abroad with the National Medical Musical Group.
As founder of Dee Jones Ministries Inc., she released her debut CD, “Light Your World” in 2003. Dee wrote and recorded the “Nurses’ Anthem” in 2007 and was heralded as a song of hope for nurses and caregivers worldwide by the Baltimore Sun, Virginian-Pilot and several publications. Dee recorded original arrangements for “Dee Jones Christmas” in 2011 and her latest CD release, “Amazing Grace,” is a collection of beloved hymns and anthems. Her varied musical style has graced the stages of the Washington National Cathedral, the Lyric Opera House, and St. Andrew Cathedral in Hawaii.
Dee is a lifelong student of God’s Word, sharing what the Lord has done in her life at conferences, seminars, and luncheons. She enjoys mentoring young women, knitting and journal writing. Whether singing on Capitol Hill or leading a ladies Bible study, Dee is eager to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone.
With an expanding ministry and nursing career, only God could pave the intersection of Dee’s life as she navigates His path for her. Dee graduated from the University of Maryland School of Nursing with a bachelor’s of science, and then earned a master’s degree in nursing education from Wilmington University. She is a doctoral candidate at Walden University focusing on Community Health Education. Proverbs 3:5-6 has been a major theme in Dee’s life and it says, “Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Dee knows that God has many wonderful adventures planned for her life and wants to help others discover His plan for their lives.
