CUMBERLAND — Joseph Charles DiNicola Sr., Pastor of Oldtown Baptist Fellowship in eastern Allegany County, died on Oct. 30. The Rev. DiNicola pastored Oldtown Baptist Fellowship for 20 years, then served as associate pastor of Graceland Baptist Church for six years.  He enjoyed working with youth. He served with the Western Baptist Association Youth Camp for 15 years and he coached a church basketball league team for several years.

DiNicola was the former owner of Frostburg Meats and co-owner of DiNicola’s Deer Bologna with his eldest son. He also worked as a meat cutter for numerous places over the course of the last 50 years.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dottie (Payton) DiNicola; and his sons, Joe DiNicola Jr. and wife, Keri, Cumberland, Dwayne DiNicola and wife, Tracy, Corriganville, Todd DiNicola and wife, Becky, Cumberland, and Toby DiNicola and wife, Tammy, Eckhart. He also leaves behind siblings and grandchildren, and other relatives.

Jim Jeffries, pastor of Lavale Baptist Church, Cumberland  and Rev Oscar Ohler, former pastor of Graceland Baptist Church and retired Director of Missions for the Western Baptist Association, officiated the funeral service on Nov. 2 at Adams Family Funeral Home. He is interred at Sunset Memorial Park.
