HUGHESVILLE, Md.—Hughesville Baptist Church will have their annual Sportsman’s Banquet on March 11 at the church on 8505 Old Leonardtown Road.

This year’s guest is Tennessee resident Jason Cruise, host of “Spring Chronicles,” on the Sportsman Channel as well as host of “Mossberg’s Rugged American Hunter.” Cruise is a published author and nationally known speaker and he’s a Christ follower. He combines his call to ministry with his love of hunting.

In an online video, Cruise says his life is about creating resources to connect men’s passion for hunting with their passion for God. He said there’s nothing he likes better than meeting other hunters at events, his “brothers in the hunt,” and talking about the great outdoors, hunting, and pursuing Jesus, “The God who made the dirt under our boots.”

The cost is $25 for adults and $10 for kids 12 and under. Tickets includes dinner and door prizes. The annual event is very popular, drawing over 200 people each year. Matt Baden, who is coordinating the event, said the banquet is a great outreach for their area in Southern Maryland where there are an abundance of hunters and fishermen.
