“The times they are a changin’!” I believe it was Bob Dylan who sang that line in one of his songs. Actually, it’s not just the times that are changing. Each of us is changing. We are constantly in a state of morph. The real issue is how are we responding to the inevitable changes that come. Some fight it. Others acquiesce with the knowledge that there is a quicksand of fear that will otherwise bog you down. Still others embrace it. Most people are so afraid of failing they refuse to take risks. And their ultimate growth is stymied.

John Maxwell, in his book “Your Bridge To A Better Future,” says, “Life is an uphill journey. No matter where you start in life or where you’re going, it takes effort to make it to the next level. If you’re not willing to push yourself, then get used to the scenery where you are. You may be there a long time.”

BaptistLIFE is changing. In 2009, we are going to transform into a hybrid publication. Six of our issues will be printed and mailed to you just as we have always done. The other five issues will be electronic-only via our website (www.bcmd.org). Remember, we only publish BaptistLIFE 11 issues per year).
The 2009 schedule will be as follows: BaptistLIFE will be printed and mailed in February, April, June, August, October and December. BaptistLIFE will be on the website only in March, May, July, September and November.

Simultaneously, we need you to go our website (www.bcmd.org) and sign up for an email version that will begin in 2009. This will be a ‘breaking story’ and ‘extra features’ version. We must have your permission to push this email to you. You provide that permission by signing up to receive it. (Remember, you can always unsubscribe at any point.)

In 2010, you will only receive the five online issues of BaptistLIFE if you have signed up to receive it as an email. 2009 is a transition year. That means we need to be successful in getting the email address of everyone who presently receives the paper. 2010 will be the “official” launch of our email version. In order for this to be successful, we need you to give us your email address right away! Thanks so much for your cooperation (and understanding) as we make this change.

Though it will feel a little different, you will still be getting the best BaptistLIFE has to offer. We are committed to bringing you reports from our churches and associations, SBC news, BCM/D news, updates and promotion. We are focused on sharing with you the positive and exciting things that God is doing within our multi-state convention.

As always, it’s your story, we just tell it!
