MIDDLETOWN, Md.–Getting back to the foundation: Family.
Bring your family to Skycroft Conference Center on May 10-12 for a weekend full of fun, worship, fellowship and family time. This will be a weekend for the whole family to slow down a bit, spend time worshiping together and just have a relaxing weekend away from home. There will be outdoor and indoor activities suitable for any age, movie night, theme party, campfire with S’mores, optional off-campus activities and a special family dinner Saturday night to treat mom like a queen in honor of Mother’s Day!
The retreat speakers are former missionaries Peter and Isabel Guadalupe from New York City. Early in their marriage, they felt a call to the mission field and served as missionaries in Reynosa, Mexico through Christian Service Corps. Upon their return they attended Brooklyn Tabernacle for five years where they worked in children’s ministries.
In 1988, the Guadalupes relocated to Hagerstown, Md., where their family was active in their local church, serving as lay leaders in several capacities. In the last twelve years, Peter traveled on several short-term mission trips to Mexico, Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico encouraging, teaching pastors’ conferences, and preaching. In these countries they witnessed first-hand the great need for church planting, evangelism, discipleship, equipping national pastors and an outreach to the homeless and abandoned children.
Peter was Senior Pastor at Hagerstown Christian Church for nine years. Isabel was active in teaching woman’s Bible studies at their church. Peter received his bachelor’s degree from Calvary Theological Seminary and is currently working towards his Master’s Degree in Theology through Cornerstone University. They also have a passion to form relationships with pastors and wives. It’s their desire to encourage these faithful ones in the familiar territory of the pastorate.
Worship will be led by Monte Leister, who shares God’s Word and his personal story of faith through action-packed music for kids and families and smart original acoustic worship/rock for youth and adults. Monte’s songs will get you jumping, inspire your faith, and keep you singing. He has nine previous studio projects under his belt including “be the Moon” (2009), “The Adventures of Boo! Radley” (2008), and “Jump for Jesus” (2006). Monte has been performing as a solo artist since 2001 and has shared stages with Shaun Groves, Mike Roe, Willet, Ashes Remain and many others.
The retreat costs $50 per person, with a $250 cap per family. The cost is all inclusive. Register online for the Family Retreat.
