COLUMBIA, Md.— Rev. Victor Kirk, chairperson of the Executive Director Search Committee at the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware, now doing business as the Mid-Atlantic Baptist Network, announced the Network is now accepting applications for the Convention’s top post, through October 15, 2015, via a portal on the website, bcmd.org/executive-search.
Victor Kirk, chairperson for the Mid-Atlantic Baptist Network Executive Search Committee, stated, “Our committee is yielding to the will of God as we look for a God-fearing, spirit-filled Southern Baptist man who has a vision for our region as well as a Shepherd’s heart for the people.”
The next Director will lead with sensitivity and as Chief Executive Officer will demonstrate planning, organizing, directing and the ability to utilize all resources to carry out and fulfill the Convention’s mission, he said.
“Our convention, which exists to plant new churches and strengthen existing churches, is strategically connected to our Nation’s capital and the great city of Baltimore. We look forward to taking advantage of the opportunities presented to us by virtue of this proximity for our region’s churches.”
The multi-state convention, whose office is in Columbia, Md., a suburb of Washington, D.C., serves and resources 550-plus churches in the Mid-Atlantic region who are in a cooperating relationship with the Southern Baptist Convention.
A special search committee has been established to find God’s man to serve in this office. This committee is comprised of Administrative Committee members of the Convention’s General Mission Board, a mixture of clergy and laity from Mid-Atlantic Baptist Network churches. The Administrative Committee oversees the personnel, finances and general operations of the Network with input from the General Mission Board members.
The committee will accept resumes through a portal on the website, bcmd.org/executive-search, from prospective candidates through October 15, 2015. Those interested in the position should post his resume and fill out a questionnaire there.

Furthermore, those wishing to recommend someone must send a formal letter of recommendation with the candidate’s resume to the above address(es).
Resumes must be received by close of business October 15, 2015.
The search committee will screen applications based on written materials submitted. Candidates selected for preliminary interviews may be interviewed in person or by conference call. Finalists will be invited to a personal interview, with members of the Convention participating.
