A great way to impact your church members and community with the Gospel this Christmas

O.S. Hawkins, president and CEO of GuideStone Financial Resources of the Southern Baptist Convention, has written The Christmas Code, a 25-day Advent booklet that leads you on a devotional journey up to Christmas Day.

One hundred percent of royalties from the sale of The Christmas Code assists retired ministers and spouses with daily needs through Mission:Dignity, a ministry that helps “soldiers of the Cross” who financially rank just above the poverty line.

You can give a gift of The Christmas Code, which traces the birth of Jesus from its roots in the Old Testament to the ultimate gift of God, salvation in Christ. Hawkins wrote the devotional to help readers slow down at a busy time of year, to pause and to ponder the true meaning of Christmas.

Randall Blackmon, pastor of Faith Baptist Fellowship, Cambridge, Md., and a trustee of Guidestone since 2010, says he is taking the challenge to share copies of Hawkins’ book with church members and their community.

“Giving this book, which only costs $1 per copy with a bulk order of 100 or more, is a great and inexpensive way to share the Gospel message,” Blackmon says. He suggests churches hang copies of The Christmas Code on neighbor’s doors with invitations to their Christmas church services and activities.

“We won’t leave our members and visitors out of the blessing. We are giving a copy as gifts to our church members and first-time guests during the holiday season,” he adds.

The Christmas Code is ideal for sharing the real meaning of Christmas, because it contains a section explaining God’s personal Christmas gift to us, which is His plan of salvation from sin through Jesus Christ.

“Our church is a smaller congregation,” Blackmon says, “Therefore, we are excited about giving a low-cost, quality gift of God’s love so that our neighbors can read and hear about the greatest gift ever given, JESUS.”
