STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.–College students from around the country will be spending their spring break cleaning up storm damage and rebuilding homes in and around Staten Island. The North American Mission Board has asked for our help.
Feeding Volunteers are needed March 2 – April 20 to support the college mission teams. Teams of four will be cooking in an indoor kitchen, preparing meals for no more than 150 people each day. Housing is provided.Volunteers do not need to be Disaster Relief trained, so if you know someone who loves to cook and who has been curious about Disaster Relief, bring them with you! If you can serve for a few days or longer, please let the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware know as soon as possible.
Several Blue Hats (Disaster Relief designated leaders) or experienced flood recovery/rebuild volunteers are needed to serve as “crew chiefs” March 16-21. These crew chiefs will work with our own Maryland/Delaware campus ministry team. Jobs will be assigned based on the skills and experience level of the students and their crew chief. The ability to enjoy working with students is a must. Housing and meals will be provided.
