ANNAPOLIS, Md.–Weems Creek Church will host a Monday Morning Seminar for pastors and church planters from 8:30 am to noon on Sept. 14 at the church.
Daniel Akin, president of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Wake Forest, North Carolina, will be the guest speaker. David Orr, pastor of Weems Creek, said Dr. Akin has an extensive ministry to pastors and church planters and is a very popular speaker.
Dr. Akin is known for his passion for the Great Commission. A popular quote from Akin is, “God does not call all to be international or North American missionaries. However, He does call all to be fully engaged in the work of missions. He calls all of us to be Great Commission Christians.”
He has authored or co-authored may theological books including, A Theology for the Church, God on Sex: The Creator’s Ideas about Love, Intimacy, and Marriage, Vibrant Church: Becoming a Healthy Church in the 21st Century (co-authored with Thom Rainer), 10 Who Changed the World, and Christology: The Study of Christ.
The church will provide a free fellowship lunch following the seminar. There is no charge for the event but registration for the lunch is requested by Sept. 10. Register by emailing the church office, office@weemscreek.com.
Orr encourages pastors to plan now to attend and to bring their staff and key leaders.
